Now let’s sit
down for a few words with Bilal al-Mansoori, one of our young heroes…
Bilal: (blush) Did you just call me a hero?
Q: (laughs)
Too much?
Bilal: A bit, yes. (laughs)
Q: Okay, I’ll
tone it down. So… (flips a page in her notes) You’re a senior at Cornell?
Majoring in chemical engineering?
Bilal: Yes.
Q: Sounds like
a pretty demanding course of study. Do you ever get out of the lab?
Bilal: I have to sleep and eat sometime.
Q: Or go to
the doctor? Isn’t that where you met Seth?
Bilal: (laughs) Yes, that’s true. Instead of “meet cute” in this case,
it’s “meet sick.”
Q: You seem to
have survived.
Bilal: Thanks entirely to Seth. (glances off-camera and smiles) I was wandering
around in a daze when he found me. Then he took me to his apartment and nursed
me back to health, when he was just as sick as I was.
Q: But it’s so
romantic!
Bilal: Not when you’re running a fever and your head’s so stuffed you
can’t lift it off the pillow. But later… yes, it was definitely quite romantic.
Q: So, what’s
next for you two?
Bilal: Thanksgiving dinner with his family, I think.
Q: Are you
nervous?
Bilal: A little. But it’s my first real American holiday. I’m looking
forward to it.

among her favorite shows), singing along to her favorite band (30 Seconds to Mars), or fantasizing
about kinky sex with Michael Fassbender and/or Jared Leto.
